How to play PoKéMoN Virtual Battle
Catch on the PoKé Catch, battle in Head, Body or Legs zones, and score points in the Gym. The rules of PVB, Folken's game.
1. Pick a starter
At sign-up, Professor Oak gives you one Pokémon at level 5. It is the only one you are given: the rest are caught.
2. Catch on the PoKé Catch
16 maps, 10 steps per map, then a wait. About one square in three hides a Pokémon. After you beat it, choose: throw a Ball to keep it, or take the experience and let it go — never both. Each species lives on one map only.
3. Battle in zones
Every battle is three zones: Head, Body, Legs. Both sides choose where to strike and where to dodge, at the same time. A move that lands on the dodge does not hit. When it does, the move drawn from the moveset, one stat drawn from the six and compared on both sides, accuracy and the type chart decide what it is worth. One move in 10 is a critical hit and doubles its points.
4. Climb the ranking — the point of the game
In the Battle Gym you face another Trainer's team: every win is worth one point to the Pokémon you sent, every loss costs one. Those points add up to your Trainer score, and the server ranking. Team of 6, 16 PC boxes, maximum level 100.
The eight Gym Leaders are fought in order, for money and the title. They do not count toward the ranking.
